Six Nations Championship
England: Champions (Triple Crown)
How England performed
England's 2020 Six Nations started with a 24–17 defeat by France at the Stade de France, but Eddie Jones's side, captained by Owen Farrell, did not lose again. A 13–6 win over Scotland at Murrayfield was followed by home victories at Twickenham over Ireland, 24–12, and Wales, 33–30, results that secured the Triple Crown.
The final round was not played until 31 October, when England beat Italy 34–5 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome to finish as champions. Four wins and one defeat, with 121 points scored and 77 conceded, brought the title and the Triple Crown, an improvement on second place in 2019. The three-point win over Wales was the closest of their four victories.
