England Expects is an independent website about England's national teams. It is free to read and is paid for by advertising, mainly commission from the bookmakers whose offers we show. This page explains how that works and what you can rely on.

Affiliate links

England Expects is an affiliate website. When you follow a link from one of our offers to a bookmaker and open an account, the bookmaker may pay us a commission. That can be a one-off fee, a share of the money the bookmaker makes from your account, or both.

• It costs you nothing, and the offer is the bookmaker's own: we do not change it.
• Offers and their links are advertising. They are labelled "Ad" and carry the 18+ message and the offer's significant terms.
• Our commercial relationships with bookmakers can affect which offers we show and in what order. Where we rank offers, the order reflects our editors' view of each offer's value and terms as well as those relationships.
• Bookmakers cannot pay for, review or change our journalism: match reports, previews, results, records and statistics.
• We only work with bookmakers licensed by the Gambling Commission to offer betting in Great Britain. You can check any operator's licence on the Gambling Commission's public register.

Odds

Odds are shown for information. They are not tips, predictions or advice, and they never guarantee a result.

• Live prices come from the bookmaker named beside them, through a data feed. We refresh them regularly but not in real time, so a price on our site can be out of date. The price you get is the one the bookmaker offers when it accepts your bet.
• Prices entered by our editors are labelled as such. We never show sample or illustrative prices as real ones.
• Bookmakers can change, suspend or withdraw odds at any time, and set their own rules for each market, for example what happens if a match is abandoned.

Offers

• Every offer is subject to the bookmaker's own terms, which can change or be withdrawn without notice. We show the significant terms with each offer and link to the full terms: read them before you sign up.
• Unless the terms say otherwise, offers are for new customers aged 18 or over who live in Great Britain. Minimum deposits, minimum odds, time limits and payment-method restrictions usually apply.
• The bookmaker, not England Expects, runs the offer and its products, decides who qualifies and pays out. We are not responsible for its decisions, payments or customer service. If you have a problem with a bookmaker, see "Complaints about a bookmaker" on our responsible gambling page.

We are not a bookmaker

England Expects does not take bets, hold money or provide gambling services, and is not licensed by the Gambling Commission to do so. Betting is for adults aged 18 and over. Statistics and data

Results, records, team sheets and rankings are compiled from many public sources and checked against each other, and where they disagree our editors decide. Even so, errors can occur, figures can differ from official tallies, and some records are incomplete, especially for early matches. Our statistics are for interest, not for relying on when you bet or make any other decision. If you spot an error, please tell us.

Editorial independence and AI

Our coverage is chosen and written by our editors. We use AI tools to help draft and research some articles and summaries, working only from the facts in our own database, and a person reviews every piece before it is published. Betting content is kept apart from our journalism: odds and offers appear in clearly marked blocks, and we do not use players, or anything with particular appeal to under-18s, to promote gambling.

Other websites

We link to other websites, including bookmakers, governing bodies and support services. We are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

Trade marks and images

England Expects is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to The Football Association, the England and Wales Cricket Board, the Rugby Football Union, FIFA, UEFA, the International Cricket Council or World Rugby, nor with any bookmaker except as an advertising partner. Team, competition and bookmaker names and marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. Photographs are credited on our image credits page.

Liability

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided "as is", and we cannot promise that it will always be complete, current or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from relying on its content, including any betting decision. Nothing on this page limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights.
