England: Champions (Grand Slam)

How England performed

A second successive Grand Slam followed in 1914, England winning all four matches. The margins at Twickenham, London, were tight: Wales were beaten 10–9 on 17 January and Ireland 17–12 on 14 February.

Scotland ran them just as close at Inverleith, Edinburgh, on 21 March, England winning 16–15, before a 39–13 victory over France at Stade Colombes, Paris, on 13 April completed the set. In all, England scored 82 points and conceded 49.
