How England performed

England won their first two matches of the 1895 championship and finished second. Wales were beaten 14–6 at St. Helen's, Swansea, on 5 January, and Ireland 6–3 at Lansdowne Road, Dublin, on 2 February.

The campaign ended with a 6–3 defeat by Scotland at the Athletic Ground, Richmond, on 9 March, a narrow loss that denied them a clean sweep. England scored 23 points and conceded 15 across the three games, repeating their runners-up finish of 1894.
