How England performed

The 1931 Five Nations Championship proved a disappointing one for England, who failed to win a match and finished fifth, a year after being champions in 1930.

An 11–11 draw with Wales at Twickenham, London, was followed by a 5–6 defeat by Ireland at the same ground. England then lost 19–28 to Scotland at Murrayfield, Edinburgh, and 13–14 to France at Stade Colombes, Paris. In all, England scored 48 points and conceded 59.
