England: Champions (Grand Slam)

How England performed

Four wins from four gave England the 1923 Grand Slam, a step up from second place in 1922. Wales were beaten 7–3 at Twickenham, London, on 20 January, and Ireland 23–5 at Welford Road, Leicester, on 10 February.

An 8–6 win over Scotland at Inverleith, Edinburgh, on 17 March kept the run going, and England completed the clean sweep with a 12–3 victory over France at Stade Colombes, Paris, on 2 April. They scored 50 points and conceded 17.
