How England performed

Narrow wins over Wales and Ireland gave England a strong start to 1927, but they finished third. Wales were beaten 11–9 on 15 January and Ireland 8–6 on 12 February, both at Twickenham, London.

The campaign then turned: Scotland won 21–13 at Murrayfield, Edinburgh, on 19 March, and France 3–0 at Stade Colombes, Paris, on 2 April. England scored 32 points and conceded 39, one place higher than fourth in 1926.
