Led by Phil Judd, England finished second in 1967 with two wins and two defeats. They opened with an 8–3 victory over Ireland at Lansdowne Road, Dublin, before losing 12–16 to France at Twickenham, London.

Scotland were beaten 27–14 at Twickenham, London, but the last match was a high-scoring 21–34 defeat by Wales at Cardiff Arms Park, Cardiff. England's 68 points scored against 67 conceded reflected a campaign of fine margins, and second place was a clear improvement on fifth in 1966.
