How England performed

England opened the 1904 Home Nations Championship with a 14–14 draw against Wales at Welford Road, Leicester, on 9 January, then beat Ireland 19–0 at Rectory Field, Blackheath, on 13 February.

Scotland won England's final match 6–3 at Inverleith, Edinburgh, on 19 March, but a win, a draw and a defeat were enough for second place. England scored 36 points and conceded 20, a marked improvement after finishing fourth in 1903.
