How England performed

England's 2025–26 tour of Australia, which followed the 2–2 draw of 2023, ended in a 1–4 series defeat. The opening Test at Optus Stadium, Perth was a low-scoring match: England led 172 to 132 on first innings but were dismissed for 164, and Australia reached 205 for 2 to win by eight wickets. Australia's 511 at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, Brisbane set up another eight-wicket win, and an 82-run victory at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, where England made 352 in the fourth innings, kept the Ashes in Australia.

England won at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, dismissing Australia for 152 and 132 and recovering from 110 in their first innings to reach 178 for 6 and win by four wickets. The series ended at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, where Australia made 567 and won by five wickets.
