How England performed

A 93-run win in Nottingham gave England the lead in the 1930 series. They led 270 to 144 on first innings there and bowled Australia out for 335 in the fourth innings. Australia's reply came at Lord's, London, where their 729 for six declared outweighed England's 425 and 375 and brought a seven-wicket win.

The next two Tests were drawn, Australia making 566 at Leeds and 345 in Manchester, where England finished on 251 for eight. The decider at The Oval, London went to Australia by an innings and 39 runs: England made 405 and 251, but Australia's 695 was out of reach. Australia won the series 2–1.
