How England performed
England retained the championship in 1954–55, winning all three matches. Haynes and Revie scored in a 2–0 win over Northern Ireland at Windsor Park, Belfast, and Bentley's hat-trick, scored between the 70th and 82nd minutes, turned the game against Wales at Wembley Stadium, London, England winning 3–2 after Charles had scored twice for the visitors.
The season ended with a 7–2 win over Scotland at the same ground, where Wilshaw scored four times, Lofthouse twice and Revie once. England finished with 12 goals scored and four conceded.
