How England performed

After sharing the title in 1890, England won the 1890–91 championship outright with three wins from three. Two of those came on 7 March: a 6–1 win over Ireland at Molineux, Wolverhampton, and a 4–1 win over Wales at Newcastle Road, Sunderland. Lindley scored twice against Ireland, with Bassett, Cotterill, Henfrey and Daft also on target and Whiteside scoring for Ireland. Goodall, Southworth, Chadwick and Milward scored against Wales, for whom Howell netted.

England completed a clean sweep with a 2–1 win over Scotland at Ewood Park, Blackburn, where Goodall and Chadwick scored and Watt scored for Scotland. They finished with 12 goals scored and three conceded.
