No noise. No nonsense. Just England.
Women's Six Nations
England: 2nd (Triple Crown)
How England performed
Under head coach Scott Bemand and captain Sarah Hunter, the Red Roses opened the 2016 Women's Six Nations with a 32–0 win over Scotland at Broadwood in Cumbernauld. A 33–24 victory over Italy in Ivrea followed, before tight home wins over Ireland, 13–9 at Twickenham, and Wales, 20–13 at the Twickenham Stoop, secured the Triple Crown.
That left England unbeaten going into the final round, but France won 17–12 at La Rabine in Vannes to inflict their only defeat. Four wins and one defeat, with 110 points scored and 63 conceded, brought second place, a clear improvement on fourth in 2015. Three of their five matches were decided by seven points or fewer.
