How England performed
The Red Roses won the 2006 Women's Six Nations with a Grand Slam, taking all five matches. They opened with a 38–15 win over Wales and then beat Spain 86–3 in Madrid, the largest margin of their campaign, before a 22–5 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield.
The key result came in the fourth round, when England beat France 28–0 in Bondoufle, holding their opponents scoreless. They completed the clean sweep by beating Ireland 29–10 on 17 March. Five wins from five, with 203 points scored and 33 conceded, delivered the title, an improvement on 2005, when a single defeat had left them second with the Triple Crown. Every one of their five victories came by at least 17 points.
