How England performed
The Red Roses completed a third successive Grand Slam in the 2008 Women's Six Nations, following clean sweeps in 2006 and 2007. They opened with a 55–0 win over Wales at London Irish and then beat Italy 76–6 in Rome, their highest score of the championship.
France were beaten 31–0 away from home, and England followed it with a 34–5 victory over Scotland at Meggetland in Edinburgh. The final match, against Ireland back at London Irish, proved the tightest, England winning 17–7 to complete the clean sweep. Five wins from five, with 213 points scored and only 18 conceded, delivered the title once again, and Wales and France both failed to score against them.
