How England performed
The Red Roses won the 2010 Women's Six Nations with a Grand Slam, improving on 2009, when a single defeat had cost them a clean sweep despite winning the title. They opened with a 31–0 win over Wales at Molesey Road in Esher and then beat Italy 41–0 in Parma.
Ireland were beaten 22–5, again at Esher, and a 51–0 victory over Scotland at Meggetland in Edinburgh followed. The decisive match came in the final round in Rennes, where England edged France 11–10 to complete the clean sweep. Five wins from five, with 156 points scored and only 15 conceded, delivered the title. Three of their opponents failed to score, and France came within a point of denying them the Grand Slam.
