How England performed

England won the 2017 Women's World Cup on home soil, with Heather Knight as captain and Mark Robinson as head coach. The campaign began with a 35-run defeat by India at Derby, but that proved to be the only match England lost. Pakistan were beaten by 107 runs under the DLS method after England made 377/7 in Leicester, and Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in Taunton. At Bristol, England made 373/5 to beat South Africa by 68 runs and then defended 259/8 against Australia to win by 3 runs. Victories over New Zealand by 75 runs at Derby and West Indies by 92 runs at Bristol completed the group stage.

In the final at Lord's, England made 228/7 and bowled India out for 219 in 48.4 overs to win by 9 runs and claim the title, improving on their semi-final finish of 2013.
