How England performed
England Women won the World Cup for the second time in 1993, again on home soil, and sealed the title with a final at Lord's. The group stage opened with a 239-run win over Denmark, who were dismissed for 47 in reply to 286/3. New Zealand then inflicted England's only defeat of the tournament, bowling them out for 102 in pursuit of 128 to win by 25 runs.
England responded by winning their remaining five group matches. Ireland were beaten on faster scoring rate, India by 3 runs after England had been dismissed for 179, Australia by 43 runs, West Indies by 4 wickets at Arundel Castle and the Netherlands by 133 runs. That set up a final against New Zealand at Lord's, where England made 195/5 from their 60 overs and dismissed New Zealand for 128 in 55.1 overs to win by 67 runs, reversing the result of the earlier group meeting. England finished as champions with seven wins and one defeat from eight matches.
