UEFA Women's Championship
England: Semi-finals
How England performed
The Lionesses' qualifying fixtures for the 1995 UEFA Women's Championship included two 10–0 wins over Slovenia, in the first of which Spacey scored four, as well as 3–0 and 6–0 victories over Belgium and two goalless draws with Spain. In October 1994 England beat Iceland 2–1 both away and at home, with Coultard scoring in each match.
England's semi-final against Germany was played over two legs. Under manager Ted Copeland, with Gillian Coultard as captain, the Lionesses lost the first leg 4–1 at home in December 1994, Farley having given them a seventh-minute lead. Farley scored again in the first minute of the return in February 1995, but Germany won 2–1 to complete a 6–2 aggregate victory. The Lionesses went out at the semi-final stage with two defeats, two goals scored and six conceded, Farley accounting for both of their goals.
