England: Semi-finals
How England performed
Heather Knight's England reached the semi-finals of the 2020 Women's T20 World Cup in Australia, two years after finishing as runners-up. Their Group B campaign started with a 6-wicket defeat by South Africa at the WACA Ground in Perth, where South Africa overhauled England's 123/8 with two balls to spare. England responded with three convincing wins: Thailand were beaten by 98 runs at Manuka Oval after England made 176/2, Pakistan by 42 runs at the same venue, and West Indies by 46 runs at Sydney Showground Stadium, where they were dismissed for 97.
That earned England a semi-final against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground, but the match was abandoned and England's tournament ended there. They finished with three wins, one defeat and an abandoned semi-final, their campaign closing without the chance to contest a place in the final on the field.
