England: Semi-finals
How England performed
Charlotte Edwards captained England at the 2016 Women's T20 World Cup in India, with Mark Robinson as head coach, and the side won all four Group B matches before going out in the semi-finals. The campaign began with a 36-run win over Bangladesh in Bengaluru, England making 153/7. The two matches in Dharamshala were far tighter: India were restricted to 90/8, and England reached 92/8 with an over to spare to win by 2 wickets, before West Indies made 108/4 and England scraped home by 1 wicket, reaching 109/9 in the last over. England closed the group with a 68-run win over Pakistan in Chennai, bowling them out for 80.
The semi-final against Australia at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground in Delhi was another close contest, but this time it went against England. Australia made 132/6 and England finished on 127/7, losing by 5 runs. Two years after reaching the final, England finished with four wins and one defeat.
