ICC World Test Championship

2021–23
World Test Championship

England: 4th in the league table

How England performed

England finished fourth again in the 2021–23 cycle, with 10 wins, four draws and eight defeats from 22 Tests.

The first half brought little. Four home Tests against India produced one win, one draw and two defeats; England lost four of the five Tests in Australia and drew the other, then drew twice in the West Indies before losing by 10 wickets in St George's. From June 2022 the results turned: three wins over New Zealand, victory in the 5th Test against India at Edgbaston on 1 July 2022, a 2–1 series win over South Africa after defeat at Lord's, and a 3–0 clean sweep in Pakistan in December 2022.
