How England performed
England hosted the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup, and the Red Roses won it with six victories from six matches under head coach John Mitchell and captain Zoe Aldcroft. The pool stage brought wins over the United States (69–7) at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, Samoa (92–3) at Franklin's Gardens in Northampton and Australia (47–7) in Brighton.
The knockout rounds moved to Ashton Gate in Bristol, where England beat Scotland 40–8 and then France 35–17 in the semi-final. The final, at Twickenham Stadium on 27 September, ended in a 33–13 win over Canada to give England the title. Across the tournament they scored 316 points and conceded 55, an average of more than 50 points per match. It was an improvement on 2021, when the Red Roses had finished as runners-up.
