Match guide

England and Australia meet in the third ODI of their international series at Ninja Stadium in Hobart on Wednesday 18 November, with first ball at 03:30 UK time. It follows the first two ODIs in Perth and Adelaide and precedes the T20Is, which open at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 21 November.

Before this tour, Australia held the recent advantage, having won the 2025–26 Test series by four matches to one. Their victories came by eight wickets in the first and second Tests, by 82 runs in the third and by five wickets in the fifth, when they chased 160 after England had made 384 and 342. England's four-wicket win in the fourth Test was the exception. Across formats, our records show England with 16 wins, 30 defeats and three draws from 49 meetings since June 1975. In 50-over cricket, England beat Sri Lanka 2–1 at home in September, including a 223-run win in the third ODI.
