England Football Friendlies

Some say there is no such thing as a friendly international football game; we tend to agree as if the team lose one of these matches it places a lot more pressure on the squad to succeed next time.

As Fabio Capello's England side prepare for the 2012 European Championships they are also taking part in a number of friendlies to keep the team fresh and active and more importantly with Fabio introducing new players as the old guard become too old they need to begin to gel as a team.

England v Spain

England take on the current World and European champions on Saturday 12th November at Wembley Stadium. This will be a good opportunity for England's players to prove they have what it takes to take on the best in the world.

Denmark v England

England travelled to the Parken stadium in Denmark for this international friendly and managed to claim a 2 - 1 victory over the Danes.

England v Ghana

England 1 - 1 Ghana

The African team travelled to Wembley Stadium to take on Fabio's team on the back of a 3-0 win over Congo. England had also just beat Wales in their Euro 2012 qualifiers and had made several changes to their team to rest key player.

Andy Carroll opened his scoring account for England in the first half but did not look 100% match fit. Ghana looked a constant threat throughout the game and managed to grab an equaliser in extra time from Gyan.
