The England squad returns to Euro 2012 action after a lengthy break of almost 5 months the Euro 2012 qualification games will again continue and the next game for England is against local rivals Wales.
The match will be taking place in the Welsh capital city of Cardiff at the impressive Millennium Stadium on 26th March 2011.
The group A match is going to be one of the most important games for England who cannot risk giving away any more points with games ending in a draw like they did in the last group G match against Montenegro, Fabio Capello knows that the win is must happen event for England to be able to gain on the current surprise group leaders Montenegro, who have so far gone unbeaten during the qualifying games to be top of the table with 10 points with England in trailing in second place with 7 points, 4 points ahead of third place Switzerland.
Prior to this Euro 2012 qualifying fixture England will be playing Denmark in an international friendly on 9th February and have played France in a friendly which was held at Wembley Stadium which saw the England side defeated 2-1 by Laurent Blanc's superior French side.
Previous History
The last time England met Wales in all competitions was back in September 2005 during the qualification stages for the 2006 World Cup. At the time England were under manager Sven-Goran Eriksson and England played Wales twice during these group stage qualifying games, they went ahead to win both games 2-0 and 1-0. The wins helped England become group winners and head to Germany for the 2006 World Cup. Wales however were not so fortunate as they finished the group in 5th place.
