Following the poor showing in the One Day International Series and indifferent performance in the 2011 ICC World Cup. After a brief break England are now preparing for their test match series against Sri Lanka, which begins on 26th May. 2011 ODI World Cup - India Triumphant

The 2011 Cricket World Cup is now over for the England Cricket Squad as they bow out to Sri Lanka in the quarter finals of the competition. The team that beat England in the quarter finals (Sri Lanka) faced an inform India who still exuberated from their triumphant win over rivals Pakistan and India prevailed again to record a historic World Cup Cricket victory.

England out of the ICC World Cup

Sri Lanka knocked England out of the 2011 ICC World Cup quarter finals on Saturday. Sri Lanka beat England by 10 wickets as England were 229 for 6 whilst Sri Lanka were 231 for none thanks to centuries from Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga.

The side now head back to England for the post mortem that will surely find that the winter schedule was far too much for the team.

England v Australia One Day Series - England Thrashed

Following straight on from the Ashes test series, England played two Twenty20 games and then went on to play seven One Day Internationals, which resulted in a disappointing 6-1 defeat at the hands of Australia.
